Light in the darkness of war: Ukraine After listening to FEBC, I am finding peace through my relationship with Jesus. Thank you! In the first week of Advent we have been reading Ivan's* story. Today we invite you to pray with us for the work FEBC Ukraine are doing to bring the light of Jesus to their nation in the midst of conflict. Pause, listen, pray Your browser does not support the audio element. Please click here to download the file A prayer for Ukraine As we reflect on Ivan’s story, which we have been reading this week, we’d like to invite you to join us in prayer, using this week’s scripture from John 1:5 to guide us. First, let’s read the verse again together: 'The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.’ In Ukraine, many listeners are facing darkness. Many are afraid of the future, afraid of losing loved ones or their homes. Many are on the frontlines, caught up in the conflict, facing injury and death daily. But we remember, 'The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.’ Lord, our hearts break when we see the darkness in the world. Today we remember Ukraine and its people in their suffering. Thank you that you are the light that shines into this darkness, and you can not be overcome. Thank you that the victory is yours. Lord Jesus, we pray that the light of your gospel would continue to reach listeners, like Ivan, across Ukraine. We ask that your light would open the eyes of those living in spiritual darkness and fear, so that they can know your peace. As we end this time of prayer, we ask that you would use us, wherever you have placed us, to bring your light to those around us. Amen. Help bring light in the darkness If you would like to support the work FEBC Ukraine and our other partners around the world are doing, we would be so grateful.
