There's something different in this programme that's so appealing to me. I feel that this programme is speaking to my heart directly.

In week two of Advent we've seen how radio is reaching listeners like Gyan*. Join us now in a time of reflective prayer recorded for us by Karan*, Regional Head of our partner projects in India as we thank God for all He is doing in our own lives and through audio media.

Pause, listen, pray

Guided prayer for India

Thank you for so much for joining me to pray for India today. We are going to spend a few minutes in guided prayer now, using five p’s to help us.

The first p is Presence – or being with God. Before we pray it can be helpful to pause and remind ourselves of God’s presence that is with us always. So let's take a moment to be still and ask God to make us aware of his presence now as we pray.

Lord, would you awaken our hearts, minds, bodies and souls to your presence now. Give us eyes to see and ears to hear you what you have to say.

The second p is Praise. What are you thankful for today?

This week in Feba’s Advent calendar we have been sharing Gyan’s story. We are so thankful that he, and many other listeners across India, are responding to the gospel as they hear it over the airwaves.

Lord, thank you that you love India as a nation, and you love its people. Thank you for the way you are using radio and audio media to reach the unreached. We praise you for bringing many Indian listeners into your Kingdom.

Next, we come to God with our Petitions, taking time to ask Him for what we need. What do you need from the Lord today?

The Bible tells us that the harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few. In India, there are about 2000 unreached people groups – certainly a plentiful harvest field! However, according to the Joshua Project, only 2.2% of the population is Christian. Alongside this there is increasing persecution of Christians and tightening anti-conversion laws, which make it very challenging to share about Jesus openly.

Lord, would you grant Feba’s partner, and all those sharing the gospel in India, protection, wisdom and courage. We pray that you would raise up more workers for this plentiful harvest field. We lift up listeners who are hearing your word in their own language over the radio. Would you speak into their hearts and lead them to you. We pray for many more stories like Gyan’s.

The next p is Pardon – where we take time to confess our sins and ask for God’s forgiveness. This Advent season we have been reflecting on how Jesus brings light into the darkness. We pause now to think about the dark places in our own hearts and lives, and ask for God’s forgiveness and light to fill us.

And finally, we finish reminding ourselves of God’s Promises, returning to the verse from Isaiah 9:2 that was behind the first window of this week in our Feba advent calendar:

The people walking in darkness have seen a great light; on those living in the land of deep darkness a light has dawned. Isaiah 9:2

Lord. thank you that you promised to send your Son, to bring light in the darkness, and your promises never fail. Jesus, thank you for all you have done for us, we praise you now and forever. Amen.

Help bring light in the darkness

If you would like to support our partners in India and around the world as they share the good news of Jesus, we would be so grateful.
