Northeast Africa We work with several partners in this region, where Christians are persecuted and sharing the gospel is extremely challenging. Despite the obstacles, God is moving powerfully through audio media. Our partners reach five different language groups through broadcasting on shortwave radio, building relationships with listeners over social media and using SD cards containing gospel content to reach remote and nomadic communities. Freedom for the prisoners Our Northeast Africa Coordinator shared this response from a listener who called them from a local prison: “We listen to your program every night. Many of us here are imprisoned for various reasons. Some are filled with regret, others feel hopeless because of their imprisonment, and some have even wished for death. For the majority of us, hope is scarce. When your radio program airs, we gather around the few radios available and listen to all the messages and songs together. After the program, we discuss what we have heard. Remarkably, many have given their lives to Jesus through this process.
