A landlocked country within West Africa, Mali’s security situation remains marked by armed conflict and abductions of property and people. Jihadist violence affects much of the country, with many regions under strict Islamic law. Christian presence in these areas is banned, making proclaiming the gospel openly almost impossible.

Radio T records programmes in four local languages, broadcasting weekly across the central and northern regions of the country on more than 20 local FM stations. Through audio media they are reaching listeners like Oumar* who are searching for truth:

Oumar's story

Your radio programmes piqued my curiosity to discover more about Christianity. I've been going to church for three Sundays, but I'm afraid of becoming a Christian because my father is the muezzin (the one who calls Muslims to prayer) of the neighbourhood mosque, and it could have serious consequences for me. My father listens to your broadcasts too. I can no longer say my Muslim prayers, something in me is disconnected from Islam.” - Oumar, Radio T  listener
