Locating good soil

Around the world, our partners are following Jesus' model of discipleship, explained in the Parable of the Sower. They are planting Kingdom seeds.

Working in a war-ravaged, poverty-stricken country, our partners at the Yemen Project aim to ‘identify spiritual seekers who are willing to receive the gospel and then share it with others in a life of discipleship.’ Following Jesus’ mandate to free oppressed people, the Yemen team have identified marginalised groups, including women and children, to focus on.

Sowing hope

Sara*, a 22-year-old student, worked in a women’s clothing shop in Yemen's capital, Sanaa. The shop owner took unauthorised photos of her in a changing room. He tried to blackmail her, but when she refused his advances, he distributed the photos. Her father saw them and, believing she had brought shame by selling her body for money, intended to kill her.

She fled, finding shelter with a family who introduced her to the Yemen Project's broadcasts, where Sara heard
about the hope found in Jesus Christ and the possibility of new beginnings. Her despair was replaced with a knowledge of Christ's love and plan for her.

Amazingly, she has now been reconciled with her earthly father and has also come to know her Heavenly Father through accepting Christ!

Perseverance bearing fruit

All our ministry partners face difficulties, but Gaweylon experiences 'seed falling on the path and rocky ground’ more than most. “The Tibetan community is very closed,” explains Anil, who leads the ministry. “We see little fruit, and those who do accept Jesus often backslide."

However, helped by your gifts and prayer, Anil and his team continue to serve this hard-to-reach group faithfully, and seeds do sometimes flourish. Listener Norbu* who shared "we are happily listening to the Gaweylon programmes on YouTube. They are very helpful for Tibetan people.”

Please give. Support our partners as they sow the good news
